Apply Visa

Bahrain, a small island nation in the Persian Gulf, includes 33 islands, with Bahrain Island as the largest. It is a constitutional monarchy led by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and Manama is its capital and largest city.

Bahrain offers an electronic visa system that allows eligible travellers to obtain permission to enter before departure. This page gives you a clear overview of how the Bahrain e-Visa works, who can apply, what documents you need, and how to submit your application online.

What is a Bahrain eVisa?

The Bahrain eVisa is an online visa for short-term visits available to eligible international travellers. You complete the application form online, upload the required documents, and pay the fee. The approved eVisa is then delivered to your email.

Processing takes a few days, with faster options available for an extra charge.

Who can apply for a Bahrain eVisa?

Citizens of many countries can apply for a Bahrain e-Visa. These nationalities are divided into 3 groups. Each group follows the same online process, but may have different levels of document requirements.

Group A – Reduced-Requirement Applicants

Nationalities that can apply with only a small set of core documents.

Group B – Standard Applicants

Nationalities that follow the standard path, which includes the GCC Permit or bank statement rules.

Group C – Applicants Requiring Extra Supporting Documents

Nationalities that may need extra supporting documents if they do not hold a valid GCC Permit.

To see which group applies to your passport, please refer to the Bahrain e-Visa Policy page.

Bahrain Visa Exemptions

Most travellers must hold a valid visa or e-Visa to enter Bahrain. Citizens of GCC countries (Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates) may enter without an e-Visa for short visits.

Some nationalities must apply for a visa through a Bahraini embassy or consulate. Always confirm which category applies to your passport before you make any travel plans.
